INVESTMENTS + RESEARCH

Mr. Bronchick was the Chief Investment Officer and a lead principal of Reed Conner & Birdwell, LLC, a Los Angeles based investment manager that he joined in 1989. For 22 years, he ran research-driven, concentrated, value-based strategies across all market capitalizations and led extensive credit work throughout the corporate capital structure. He was one of the first columnists for the TheStreet.com in the 1990's and then moved on to a similar role at Grant's Interest Rate Observer's first online effort. Prior to RCB, Mr. Bronchick worked in research and trading roles at Neuberger Berman, Bankers Trust and First Boston. He attended the London School of Economics and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.

After graduating with an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, Ben Claremon joined Cove Street in July 2011 as a research analyst. Previously he worked as an equity analyst on both the long and the short side for hedge funds Blue Ram Capital and Right Wall Capital in New York, and interned at West Coast Asset Management in Santa Barbara. His background includes a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, followed by four years with a family commercial real estate finance and management business. Mr. Claremon is also the proprietor of the value investing blog, The Inoculated Investor.

Eugene Robin joined Cove Street in July 2011 as a research analyst from Proton Capital, a family office where he developed investment ideas in both public and private markets. He was also responsible for vetting and monitoring investments in the alternative asset space. Mr. Robin holds an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, a Computer Science degree from UC San Diego and received his CFA charter in 2011. He previously worked at ViaSat as a software engineer.

CLIENT SERVICE + OPERATIONS

Cove Street has built an institutional quality infrastructure led by our President and Chief Compliance Officer, Daniele Beasley, who worked with Mr. Bronchick at Reed Conner & Birdwell (RCB) in a similar capacity for 11 years. Ms. Beasley received her MBA from the PKE Program at Pepperdine University and completed the Executive Program at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. She has an additional ten years experience working in operations and compliance at Helix Investment Partners, L.P. and Houlihan, Lokey, Howard & Zukin Investment Management. She currently serves as the First Vice President on the Board of Directors of The Saban Free Clinic and as an institutional member on the Yo San University Board of Trustees.

Prior to joining Cove Street Capital in July 2011, Ms. Gloria worked in trading and administration at Reed Conner & Birdwell for more than six years. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science at California Polytechnic State University with a concentration in Finance.

Prior to joining Cove Street Capital, Ms. Manthei spent 4 years at Reed Conner & Birdwell in administration and marketing support. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Otis College of Art and Design and cofounded Gallery 1927 at the historic Fine Arts Building in downtown Los Angeles. Before joining the investment industry, Ms. Manthei was a managing editor of the Hometown News, a West Los Angeles community newspaper, and has operated a logo design and brand consultation business since 2005.
